CONTEST CLOSED- Trendz Spa giveaway!

Thanks to a generous donation by Alana, the owener of TRENDZ the salon spa & beauty boutique in Youngwood (by New Stanton, about an hour east of downtown), we have TWO spa treatments to give away!

What treatments are they, you ask?  Well, here the fun part...you get to design the perfect treatment for you!

Then the owners of TRENDZ will read the entries and pick their two favorites.  The winners will win "their" treatment that they've designed and TRENDZ will add the treatment to their fall menu (so you'll be a little bit famous too!)  :)

Sounds fun, right?

So here's how it works. Go look at TRENDZ's web site.  Look at the treatments they offer, then customize one of those treatments for you.   If you had your perfect spa treatment, what would it be? (just one treatment, not an entire day/package).

You might say.."I love pumpkin so I'd like a pumpkin candle burning while I get a swedish massage, ending with some pumpkin scented lotion and have a cup of pumpkin tea and a slice of pumpkin pie afterwards.  (wow, that's a lot of pumpkin, but hey, if you like pumpkin...)

Or you might say..."I need a new hair cut. This mom cut isn't working for me. So I want to plan a date night with my hubby after getting a consult and a stylish new cut and style designed by one of TRENDZ stylists"

Get creative!

I'll run the contest from now until the end of August, so you'll get to enjoy your spa treatment right when your kids go back to school and you can have a little mommy break!

Wow, I'd have a hard time choosing what I'd want because I've never been to a spa!  But I'd probably choose some skin care and some sort of massage as I'm expecting at the end of september, have a 2 year old and recently turned 30!  So as long as it was relaxing and rejuvenating....it'd be perfect!

i'd have to choose the trendz aromatherapy massage.

my sense of smell definitely needs refreshed after many years of changing interesting diapers, opening/cleaning sippy cups full of old chocolate milk, semi-successfully potty training a BOY, and locating lost chicken nuggets in the car...

i'm thinking lavender.

Gee, this is awesome.  I would love a pedicure.  And anything else.  I have been trying to get a pedi done for almost two months.  I have recently lost weight.  My goal was to be under 200 and then I would treat myself to a pedi.  Well do you think that has happened?  Heck no!  My hubby yells that I have spent to much money on myself.  Well I do need new clothes now that nothing fits.  I am a stay at home mom who runs life all on my own.  I would love to soak my feet with a wonderful sent drifting by.  A massage wouldn't be so bad either.  All the zumba classes and my muscles hurt!

Chocolate Melt Away Package

My ideal treatment would be a hot stone massage with a chocolate scent.   What a way to melt away stress!   It would end with a cup of hot cocoa and a dark chocolate covered strawberry.   Chocolate and massage, two of my three favorite things ;-)

Aveda Caribbean Therapy Body Treatment

I am highly sensitive to noise, so with three kids (6.5, 4, 20 mth.), going to school, taking care of the house, I am always stressed out and rarely take time for myself.  It's a good week if I have time to shave my legs and apply lotion.  I would love to be able to relax with some soft Caribbean music, a coconut candle and maybe a pina colada to sip on.  I have never indulged in any type of spa treatment and this just sounds so calming, relaxing and yummy!  Someone taking care of me, WOW!

No "Whine", I'll Take It on the Rocks.

I would love a peaceful room (with no whining), some soft, relaxing piano music playing, a merlot candle burning, with a hot rocks massage.  Please don't talk to me (I'm not being rude), please don't ask me questions (outside the required introductory courtesies) because I answer ten thousand questions a day.  And don't remind me that I have a husband and two kids for 75 minutes.  If I can stay there for 3 days, even better, but all good things must come to an end.

Yinz’ll Love this!

I envision a room done in black and gold.  The Steelers fight songs playing softly in the background.  The Steelers’ History DVD playing on the TV.  7 layer dip with lots of tortilla chips and a Yuengling bottle on a decorated table with tickets to an upcoming game.  Edit enters adorned in shoulder pads.  I envision a midseason game in Pittsburgh with inevitable rainfall.  I am now being wrapped in the Nourishing Sea Mud (thankfully not from the Monongahela River).  As the “natural earth clays draws out impurities while Ginger and White Tea stimulate circulation and smooth my skin” I am thankful for my womanhood and that I am not on the field.  Now that my blood has been circulated, it’s time to share the tickets with my husband to get his blood circulated too!

"At the beach, away from the beach"

Being that I absolutley love the beach...and thats where I relax away from stress of work and the kiddo (who is 3 and in his "terrible 3's, not the terrible 2's!), I would take the Aveda Caribbean Therapy and Body Treatment.  I'd would enjoy sipping on a pina colada and some sea scented  or coconut candles lit.  Take my mind away off to the beach...while having a oceans sound cd playing in the background!  The room can be all blues and greens.

Nothing better than being at the beach away from the beach!!!

I would want the "Off birth control pills - face breaking out" facial.  My hubby had a vasectomy and I quit the pill.  Now my face looks like I'm a teen in puberty.  My face is breaking out and I would like the "Clean the heack out of the Pore" facial.  Heavy duty, zit zappen facial so I look like the 48 year old pre menapausal woman I am and not the "I hope I get asked to the Jr. High dance teen.

I love visiting spas and having various treatments. It's a rare treat, however, since I'm a working mom.  Every time I go, I feel a little guilty for spending my "free time" without the family.

For once, I think it would be fun to have a "Mommy/ Daughter Day" with my 5-year-old.  We could both get manicure/pedicures.  She would feel pampered and like a little princess.  And, I could leave having spent quality time with my little girl and with a fresh coat of polish on my nails!  It would be the best of both worlds... relaxing, fun, and time with my little one!

It would be a nice fall special, too.  Think of the mommy/daughters who would come in for homecoming mani/pedi's... :-)

Being the mother of two 1 year old twin boys and a 1 year old cat and the wife of a marine....I'm never sitting still for long. I would have to say my ideal spa treatment would be a nice, quiet (there would have to be a "no whining zone" sign on the door) room, the only light coming from Unscented candles. Meanwhile bergamot oil combined with essential lime oil OR juniper and lavender oil heated in an aromatherapy lamp will be in the background. Soft classical music playing and the most wonderous 90 minute swedish massage known to man and OF COURSE a nice bottle of pink champagne and chocolates. A day of mommy indulgence.  : o)

Hot Stone Massage...I have three boys, 6,5 and 2.

I would be on Cloud 9 with this massage.  I have been talking about getting one for years!  I would love to smell a fall candle, listen to relaxing music while having this done.  I honestly think that this would take 10 years off of my life!  A cold Mike's Hard Lemonade while having it done just might make me a new woman!

Man, it's so hard to choose!

After reading (and wishing!) over the site for what seemed like hours, I think I'd choose the Aveda Caribbean Therapy Body Treatment. I think the botanicals and extracts would remind me of the last vacation my husband and I took together... 4 years ago, to Jamaica for his sister's wedding. We had a fantastic time, and it was so fun for the two of us, before kids and the stresses that comes with everyday life. Also, the timing is perfect, since this is one of the busiest times of year for me at work! I'm on my feet 8+ hours at work selling all you other mamas your kids' school clothes, and that gets tiring! And then at the end of the day I troop home to car for my 2 kids so that my husband can work his night-shift job.  This mama would love a spa treatment of any kind!

During the transition of returning back to Pittsburgh after 4 years and recently offered a job while raising my 2 year old son; there couldn't be anything better to treat the transitional blues! The thought of releasing the stress and tightness couldn't put more of a positive feel in my life. It would inspire me to feel pampered with a Hot Cocoa Bath followed by a Chocolate Fondue Body Mask and Wrap. Bring on the chocolate! A taste of chocolate resting on my tongue to satisfy the temptation through my senses!  What could be better than chocolate???

I would like a Mother//Daughter outing but for adults.  I would LOVE to treat my Mom to a special day to let her know how much I love &  appreciate all she does during the school year by watching my young daughter.  It would be a treatment for someone who doesn't slow down enough from doing things for others to do something for themselves.  I would like something short but sweet.

While nibbling on some tasty chocolates and sipping on hot tea, we would get manicures to pamper our hands that do so much.  Nothing too fancy, but just enough to take away the stressors of our lives for just a little bit.  There would be nice music playing in the background with a chocolate scented candle filling the air.

Spa-Two-Gether Package:  I have a core group of girlfriends from college who all live in different cities.  Since the birth of my son, I haven't been able to see them nearly enough!  My best friend Kathy is coming for the weekend 21-Aug thru 23-Aug.  I would TOTALLY enjoy the girlfriends spa-two-gether package! . Each of us would get a classic manicure, an essential pedicure, a customized face treatment, and a 75 minute massage with Broadway tunes as our "mood" music!

My middle name is chocolate!

I just LOVE chocolate so a day of relaxation couldn't be better without a Chocolate Fondue Hydrating Body Mask and Wrap. Having the delicious creamy dark chocolate fountain of goodness flowing in the background is all I want to hear. The sweet smell of indulging chocolate taking over my senses will be the only thing I am thinking about (and not my child who just entered the terrible 2's the second she blew out her candles in her chocolate b-day cake). To end the session with a sampling of strawberries, marshmallows,  and graham crackers to dip in the chocolate fondue fountain would be the ultimate chocolate experience. YUM!!!!

What a giant selection to choose from! I am dreaming of one of the promotions listed: 60 minute massage, custom facial, and Sauna. I am the mom of a 7 month old and I feel like I haven't completely relaxed since she was born. I would love some down time to find myself again.

I would really love to have a perm. My hair is really long and grows very fast. The last time I got a hair cut was to donate 12 inches to Locks of Love. My 10 year old daughter has also donated 10+ to Locks of Love. Our family truely stive to help those in need weather it be through a hair donation, blood donation, Relay for Life, food and sometimes even financial donations.

I would call my treatment "Scrub, Buff, and Polish".  I have extremely dry skin and the treatment would revolve around treating that, however temporarily.  I often don't take the time to moisturize two times a day like I should, since we rush to get the three of us out of the door in the morning.  I would start my treatment off with a nice exfoliating all over scrub followed by a head to toe Swedish massage using an intense moisturizer.  I would choose a citrus scent for the exfoliation and massage as citrus scents add a nice pick me up for a tired mom.

I have very thick, curly hair and have had the same hairstyle forever.  It is time for an updated look.  I think I would like to have my hair relaxed so I look a little more modern.  I want to be hip and cool like my kids.

If I had the honor of winning this contest, I would choose the 60 minute Couples Massage.  My husband and I are parents of a 5 year old.  Our lives are totally devoted to our daughter and sometimes we tend to forget about ourselves.  My husband is the most loving, caring, devoted father I know and does anything for his girls !  We never get a chance to do anything oursleves, nor do our finances really allow us to do much.  With back to school shopping, her extra-cirrucular activites and daycare, we seem to forget about spending on ourselves.  My husband is turning 40 on September 16.  We were going to have a big blow out, but he decided he'd rather keep it small and just have a few buddies over.  I'm not really sure if he means that or if he just doesn't want me to make a fuss, but he works really hard at a body shop, physically, in sweldering heat everyday.  I'd love to give him something special for his big 4-0, which would be a bit of relaxation and some time with me.  I know this is supposed to be for moms, but one thing about moms is I guess we never think of ourselves.  But sure I'd like to go to a spa alone, but I think the couples massage would be just what we needed, for all of the reasons I just mentioned.  Thank you for taking the time to read my entry.

I recently became engaged and I have always wanted to take my girls       (my bridesmaids) for a spa day.  However, it's hard to find a spa without having it be tested out before hand.  That's where my mom and I come in.  I would create the pre-bridal spa sampler.  It would begin with my mom and I starting with a 30 min massage to make us feel calm and relaxed.  We would then receive a facial (because every bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride would need to have a fresh face ).  Then as we sip on a cocktail, we would enjoy a spa medi and pedi.  This would be the perfect sampler for any bride and mother of the bride to enjoy bonding time before the wedding and sample what a spa would offer before the other bridal party members come to celebrate.

TRENDZ SPA GIVEAWAY

Hi  Pittsburgh mom,

I am a 5th generation Pittsburgh mom. In this time Pittsburgh has gone from being known as "the smoky city" and" the "steel city" to hosting the G20 summit, partly because of Pittsburgh's commitment to using  green technology. I would so enjoy a customized facial  treatment and enjoy relaxing during the hand, foot, neck, and shoulder massage. With TrendZs mission to be an enviromentally safe facility it is my ticket to get the 1950's grit off my face.

I am under going cancer treatment, and it is reeking havoc on my skin.  I would like to have a facial and I like the idea of using ancient healing wisdoms to help me restore healthy skin balance.  I sure can use a little pampering and I would be very greatful to win a relaxing day at Trendz.

aaahhhhhhhhhh.  I was just envisioning enjoying any one of the spa treatments they offer.  The Carribean escape could really take me away, but then again it would be wonderful to share the experience with my husband.

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Every option sounded so wonderful, the Carribbean Escape would definitely bring back memories of a wonderful trip.  Then again, I could always include my husband who has never endulged in any kind of spa treatment.
