I was just  using an "imitation q-tip" and i realized that I will never, ever again buy anything other than name brade Q-Tips.

I know we all try to save money and buy generic where we can, but what products do you absolutely refuse to buy generic?

For me it's definitely Q-Tips and maybe Peanut Butter (I'm a Jif girl).

    Shoes

My feet are a mess and ds inherited his grandfather's big, fat feet.  By forking over money, they wind-up paying for themselves in the long run with good foot health and also not falling apart.   The only time I'll go cheap for the kids (ds anyway, dd is too little for shoes yet) is for a one time thing: e.g. special photos, wedding, etc. where they won't be on too long.  I haven't even done that lately.  The last pair of tennies I got was black and I put them on him for a funeral with khakis and polo shirt.

May I have ten thousand marbles, please?

Oh, and carseats.  I don't mind spending less money per se as long as the safety ratings are comparable.  For example, the carseat we bought for MILs car had comparable ratings to our Britax, but was much cheaper.  You get what you pay for.  The cover is chintzy, the straps are a pain in the ass, etc., but for how often it's used, that's OK.  Now for the one in our car that we use almost daily, that's another story.  I'll fork over the money for that.

I'm a Jif girl all the way also.  I refuse to buy any other peanut butter.  I also will only buy Scott toilet paper because it lasts so much longer.  I also buy more expensive bread but I go to wal-mart to buy it so it's about 1.50 cheaper than at Giant Eagle.  I have to buy Dove unscented soap and Almay unscented deodorant for my skin's sake or I would probably buy the cheaper brands of those also.

I'm a Simply Jif girl all the way...feel the same way about Q-tips.

Nestle makes the best break and bakes...their recent recall has only reminded me of how giant eagle and pillsbury just aren't the same.  I use the nestly recipe from the bag for my own cookies...that may be why...I always have since I was 12.

Swiss miss is my favorite cocoa.

COKE is the only cola I will drink.  If I'm going to add the calories and caffeine...it's gotta be Coca Cola all the way.  I get so disappointed if I'm in the mood for cola and a restaurant only serves pepsi...I get water instead.   (I grew up on pepsi so this is a bit of a reversal...our best friends in CT showed us the light....we've been coke fans ever since LOL).
