Help! My daughter was supposed to get married at North Park on Sept 25 but due to a family crisis has had to move the date up to August 21. Our budget is around $3000 and we can't find anything in the Pittsburgh area for that date or price range. The park was perfect as she wants trees, flowers, to get married outside and have a building for the reception. We can only find church basements at this point and she's just beside herself. I plan to decorate and cook so we don't need caterers.  Does anyone have a suggestion??

    Hi Cynthia,

If you are willing to drive a little, there's Cooper's Rock WV - friends of ours had a beautiful outdoor wedding there last year (vows at the breath taking overlook) with a reception to follow in a gorgeous stone & wood pavilion (fireplace & candle light was all the decor the pavilion really needed).  They were on a budget, too, and both big fans of the outdoors.  Their families brought the food as well.  The bride-to-be walked out into the clearing from the trees and my daughter thought she was seeing a princess from a fairytale!

If you can rent one of the pavilions still, this may be an option for you.  I've attached a link to the website I found.  Good luck and congratulations to you & your daughter on her upcoming nuptials!

I had my wedding at the Buffalo Inn at southpark...(It's one of their rental buildings in the Park)

Also, they have a gazebo that can be rented to have the wedding outside right near a pond!

You could try Robert Morris University in Moon Twp.  They have a beautiful outdoor garden next to Massey Hall.  I have seen couples get married in the garden and do their reception outside. They also had use of some rooms in the building, as well as restrooms, etc.

Renzie Park in Mckeesport has a beautiul Rose garden with a Gazebo for Weddings.  With in the park there is a building that can be rented and it has a full kitchen.  If I were getting married again,  I would do it here!!!
