The name is MOMMY!
“Mom!”
My head pokes up like a prairie dog. Who’s calling “mom?”
“Hey MOM!”
Again? Who is that? Who’s in my house looking for “mom.”
“MOM! MOM!”
You talking to me?
My son call me “mom” now, and I feel like I’ve lost my baby (dramatic much?). What happened to “mommy”? I refer to myself to him as “mommy” and so does my husband:
“Give that to mommy.” “Go see mommy.” “Let mommy have it.”
Mom?
Moms are women with much older children than my two year old. They’re seasoned. They’re professionals. They’ve got the experience. They're solid -- mom!
Am I weird? (Don’t answer that.) Does anyone know what I mean by saying that my son calling me “mom” makes me feel like he’s not a baby anymore? (If you think I’m crazy, please don’t say anything. I’ll just take the lack of comments on this post as proof.)
I’m sure I’ll be called “mommy” again at some point – I hope. Eventually, I’ll get the mix of some “mom” here with a dash of “mommy” when he wants something and a sprinkle of “maaaa!” when he’s feeling lazy.
