Pittsburgh Family Fun - Weekend pick - Museum Day
This weekend I'm suggesting that all of you Pittsburgh Moms and Dads take advantage of Smithonian's Annual Museum Day event. Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Media in which participating museums across the country open their doors for free to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket. If you've never been to the see the dinosaurs at the Carnegie or the cool sports memorabilia at the Heinz History Center, you simply should make the trip. And what better time to do it than this weekend, when it's free!
On Saturday, September 25, 2010 over 1,000 museums are offering free admission. Find a museum participating in your area here and then print your ticket for up to two free admissions here. (You must have a ticket to gain entrance!)
Participating Pittsburgh museums include:
Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History
Hartwood Mansion
Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh
Photo Antiquities
Senator John Heinz History Center
And don't forget about RADical Days, also going on begining this week, a month-long yearly Pittsburgh event that offers free admission to over 40 museums.
