Marijuana use up among parents
Among her interviews was a stay-at-home mom who smokes every day, often when her daughter is taking a nap, and a white-collar professional mom and dad who smoke before playing with their kids (It helps shut out some of the other noise,” Mark said. “I find that I am more relaxed and less self-conscious.” That calmer state of mind, he said, leads to long games of "Chutes and Ladders", complete with silly voices that make the kids laugh)
I find this fascinating. I certainly will partake of a drink or two with my children around, and I'm not against marijuana use at all. But the thought of smoking a joint and then going to play with my kids is so surreal to me.
Is there something to be said for doing what it takes to make ourselves calm and happy...does it make our parenting "better"?
Or is smoking pot and then playing with the kids reckless?

One thing's for sure, the giant box of Goldfish crackers in our pantry would be empty. :)
