My Bio

Dr. Heather Starr Fiedler is the founder and General Manager of PittsburghMom.com. She and her husband, Mike, live in Indiana Township with their two young sons, Matthew (born June 2005) and Benjamin (born December 2006). In addition to being a mom, Heather is also an Associate Professor of Multimedia in the School of Communication at Point Park University. She also does freelance design work through her site starrcustomdesign.com.

The Fiedlers are not homebodies. In fact, they can’t remember a single day when they haven’t ventured out of the house at least once. And they’ve taught their kids to be the same way. By 9 a.m. the kids are handing over their coats and asking to go “bye bye”, hence their interest in Pittsburgh activities that are family friendly. When she has free time she enjoys reading, reality TV, bargain shopping, and a good glass of Merlot. Contact Heather

I have gone to portrait innovations on several  and told that if I buy enough product that I would get a CD with all my photos to do with whatever I wanted. Well that was not the case. These pictures are low resolution pictures with the high resolutions pictures encrypted and you must ask permission to have them reproduced. I would have never gone there and had my photos taken of my children had I known this. I cannot tell you how valuable having the copyright on your pictures will be to you and your family in the future. I am heart broken and sickened by this. For what I paid to get my photos there, I could have gotten them at Sears, JCPenneys, Olan Mills or Target (am sure there are others) and obtained a CD with copyright privileges so that I could reproduce these pictures at any time. Please, if you value your family photos and want to give your children something special go somewhere else so you can have control over your family photos and your child's image.  I hope I can keep  a family from having to go through the anguish that I have gone through with this company.
